Seems like an old story. Tortorella benches Avery until the team appears lifeless and then inserts him to bring some spirit and hustle. Time and time again, Avery has done just that. But when you are barely playing, it becomes an increasingly difficult assignment. I've been away and had not been following my Rangers. They played very well last night against Florida with Avery a healthy scratch. I'll be at the game against Dallas Tuesday and hope to see Avery in the lineup. I'm not optimistic. It almost seems like Tortorella is setting up Avery for failure. As I had stated in my ' The World According to Jud" blog piece, this continues to be a personal thing for Tortorella. Too bad for Sean and too bad for Ranger fans. He brings an electricity to the Garden like no one else. I hope he gets the chance.
