Found November 14, 2011 on The Rangers Tribune:

Head coach John Tortorella made all sorts of changes to the bottom three offensive lines in the late parts of Friday's contest against the Carolina Hurricanes in attempt to get his secondary scorers going. A four-game explosion was the result, therefore the coach ran new lines today in practice, which were actually what he finished the game with against the Canes.

Here are the lines, courtesy of Andrew Gross:

Artem Anisimov - Derek Stepan - Marian Gaborik
Ruslan Fedotenko - Brad Richards - Sean Avery
Brandon Dubinsky - Brian Boyle - Ryan Callahan
Andre Deveaux - Erik Christensen - Brandon Prust

In this morning's article, I discussed how Sean Avery is ready to take the next step and is no longer just trying to get himself comfortable with the squad. Recognizing this, Tortorella has put Avery on a line with Brad Richards and Ruslan Fedotenko to maybe provide a spark. That's a big opportunity for Sean against a rival opponent.

Not sure why Richards was taken away from the Dubinsky-Callahan line, but I don't mind Boyle there either. That's a hard-working line that should be expected to grind against the Isles tomorrow night.

As I said on Friday, the players beyond Marian Gaborik, Derek Stepan and Artem Anisimov actually contributed in that game with these lines. Hopefully we see a similar explosion Tuesday on the Island.

Avery's Big Night on the Island

Video of Sean Avery's goal... ...someone please tell Boyle to get out of Avery's way when he's about to celebrate a goal. Here's Avery's fight... After the game Avery asked the media to help him get an explanation for why he was assessed a unsportsmanlike conduct when he didn't drop his gloves during his initial altercation with...

Slap Shot: Rangers Win 7th Straight Against Floundering but Feisty Isles

Brad Richards's goal with just under five minutes to play helped the Rangers win their seventh straight game.

Lucky Seven: Rangers Keep Rolling

Brad Richards is taking to life as a big star in New York quite well. He's showing up in Page Six for squiring starlets around town on his nights off and leading the Rangers to wins when he's working, something that's known as Jetering around these parts. Well, it's not really known as Jetering, but it should be especially when the Rangers are as hot as they are right...

Richards, Rangers beat Islanders to make it 7 straight

The Rangers let two leads slip away in a physical game at Nassau Coliseum Tuesday night, but Brad Richards buried a slap shot off an assist from Brandon Dubinsky late in the third period to break the tie, and the Blueshirts went on to defeat the Islanders, 4-2, for their seventh straight win.

Postgame: Rangers Beat Isles with Late Goal to Earn 7th Straight Win

I must say, the environment at Nassau Coliseum was electric tonight, so it was only fitting that the game was decided in dramatic fashion late in the third period. Each team had swings of momentum, but it was the Rangers who had the final say in this one to grab their seventh straight win and earn their tenth win of the season. And like I said in the pregame; what better team to...

Brandon Prust’s Decreasing Role – A Good Thing

As has been said countless times on this site; when Ruslan Fedotenko – Brian Boyle – Brandon Prust is your fourth line, then you have the makings of a contender. Well, at least in Brandon Prust’s case, he is on his way if not already arrived at the fourth line. With such little ice time last night against the Isles (less than 6 minutes) and an ever-dwindling role on the team...

Dan’s the man for Blueshirts

Even looking at tape, John Tortorella can find something new that impresses him about Dan Girardi. On Saturday after practice in Greenburgh, it wasn’t the defenseman’s game-winning goal in Friday night’s win that had caught Tortorella’s eye.
