I know this Avery stuff is getting redundant, and trust me, I am sick and tired of hearing about it as I stated in my previous article on Sean earlier in the week. But Avery came out and made some strong statements when talking to the New York Post about sitting out the last few games as a healthy scratch...

“It’s definitely more frustrating,” Avery told The Post. “I know I can help.”

“It’s not easy, but it’s part of the job have and you have to deal with it,” Avery said. “I want the guys to play well regardless of who is in the lineup, but it’s tough.”

Can't argue with him there, especially when you look at the last two losses which clearly lacked some sort of spark or fire. That's usually when Avery shines.

At the same time, though, looking at the big picture, even if Avery did come into the lineup and have a positive impact, he would eventually end up right back in the press box as a healthy scratch. Basically, there is nothing Avery can do to remain in the lineup for an extended period of time as long as John Tortorella is the head coach. Nothing.

It's frustrating to watch, Avery is right, but he has to realize at some point that his opportunities on this team are few and far-between.
