Found January 01, 2012 on NY Rangers Blog:
The CT Whale report that Sean Avery travelled with the team on their trip to Portland to take on the Pirates at 1pm tomorrow....last month Avery probably thought he was going to be playing in the Winter Classic on the afternoon of January 2nd. Instead, he'll be playing a game in Portland, Maine. Yikes. While, Avery won't be playing in the Winter Classic, it didn't stop reader Eric P.'s girlfriend from buying him an Avery Winter Classic jersey......still pretty cool to have.Speaking of the Whale, Tim Erixon had two assists as they defeated Springfield 5-2 last night.Remember to follow me on Twitter & Facebook or e-mail me at

Sean Avery Clears Waivers

The New York Rangers have announced that forward Sean Avery, who was waived by the team on Friday afternoon, has cleared waivers. Avery is now likely to be assigned to the Connecticut Whale of the AHL, unless he makes a deal with a KHL club before then. I doubt that happens, though. Avery had some interesting things to say to the New York Post after getting the news that he was...

Avery guarantees his next team 'won't ever be sorry'

Controversial forward Sean Avery made a guarantee to his next team. After being waived for the second time this season by the New York Rangers, Avery told the New York Post that his next club "won't ever be sorry." "I have a lot to prove, and I have a lot of game left after not being allowed to play my game for the last four years," Avery told the newspaper...

Sean Avery Guarantees New Team 'Won't Ever Be Sorry' to Sign Him

Sean Avery is understandably upset after being waived by the New York Rangers for a second time this year. Now, he's not holding back on letting the world know that he's ready to move on, too. "I have a lot to prove," Avery told the New York Post, "and I have a lot of game left after not being allowed to play my game for the last four years." Avery then...

Sean Avery Has Cleared Waivers

… once again Sean Avery goes through waivers and NO ONE in the NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE wants the guy.  This speaks in a large volume of how irrelevant Avery is now to the New York Rangers and the NHL.  Avery will most likely head to the Connecticut Whale of the AHL unless he ponders another [...]

Late Avery Penalty Leads to Whale Loss in Return

Sean Avery did not have a memorble return to the CT Whale as his late high sticking penalty with less than two minutes to go and the Whale clinging to a 4-3 lead allowed the Portland Pirates to tie the game, which they eventually won in overtime 5-4.Avery centered a line with Aaron Voros and Ryan Bourque, which apparently had some chemistry during the game....that is the type of...

Avery clears waivers; not going to the Islanders

So Sean Avery is Connecticut (AHL) bound again. He cleared waivers at noon. Apparently, the Islanders didn’t agree with some of the b.s. we may have read or heard about what a bounty it would be to grab Avery at a discounted price. Making that, how many times now that the entire NHL has passed on him?

Video: Mike Rupp Receiving The Broadway Hat From King Henrik

… Amazing!  Rupper totally deserved this and he came through big for the New York Rangers today. How sweet it was to watch Mike Rupp play like the player a few of us expected when signed.  Between Rupp and Mitchell, the hatred from fans pulling for Sean Avery has been huge the last week. How [...]

Just Deserts

Unless you have a fondness for cocky, pompous, and narcissistic human beings, it’s hard not to smile upon learning that Sean Avery has been placed on waivers by the Rangers.  Nobody has enjoyed watching Avery become John Tortorella’s personal whipping boy more so than yours truly.  Even though the Ranger coach hasn’t publicly chastised his mouthy winger, it’s obvious...

It’s Go Time! … alumni game today

It will be fun seeing some of the old-timers back in uniform. Not sure it’s two and a half hours worth of fun. I’m sure some of the players will be mic’d up and no doubt interviewed while on the bench. I just hope that the broadcast doesn’t become more about the televising crew (Pierre) than about the players on the ice. I worry that it will. They’d better have Lauren...
