Although Matt Duchene will not play tonight against the Edmonton Oilers, his status has been upgraded to day-to-day and there is a small chance he could return Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets.

Colorado Avalanche center Matt Duchene is expected to return to the ice for Sunday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets.Duchene hasn’t played since suffering a knee injury on Dec. 29 versus the Phoenix Coyotes. He had 12 goals and 12 assists in 29 games before getting hurt.Duchene tallied 122 points in his first two seasons with the Avalanche.

Answer: Mark Olver. Olver, who has missed most of the season with a concussion and has recently been playing in Lake Erie, returned to the Avalanche lineup in style with a two point night.

EDMONTON – Peter Mueller indeed won’t play tonight. Avs are adamant it’s a torso injury, not a concussion. I’m not disputing it. Of course, I’m unable to talk with Mueller himself, nor him to me, because it’s a strict team rule that injured players not speak to media.
