Colorado Avalanche center Matt Duchene is expected to return to the ice for Sunday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets.Duchene hasn’t played since suffering a knee injury on Dec. 29 versus the Phoenix Coyotes. He had 12 goals and 12 assists in 29 games before getting hurt.Duchene tallied 122 points in his first two seasons with the Avalanche.

Matt Duchene is returning to the lineup tonight against the Winnipeg Jets the same place he left it: the wing.
Duchene is going to be kept at wing at least for a game on a line with Paul Stastny and Milan Hejduk.
David Jones will be moved down the third line, even despite his strong play on that line, with Jay McClement and Daniel Winnik.

The Colorado Avalanche will have to try to improve on its 2-14-1 divisional record without its two best scorers.
Peter Mueller (torso) and Matt Duchene (knee) are both out of tonight's game against the Edmonton Oilers, according to the Denver Post.
Mueller did not participate in the morning skate but Duchene did and Duchene does have a "small chance" of playing...

With Matt Duchene and Peter Mueller out, the Avs needed some production from new players.
Answer: Mark Olver. Olver, who has missed most of the season with a concussion and has recently been playing in Lake Erie, returned to the Avalanche lineup in style with a two point night.
Olver lined up with Ryan O'Reilly and Gabriel Landeskog and that line produced all of the offense...

EDMONTON – Peter Mueller indeed won’t play tonight. Avs are adamant it’s a torso injury, not a concussion. I’m not disputing it. Of course, I’m unable to talk with Mueller himself, nor him to me, because it’s a strict team rule that injured players not speak to media.
