Lindberg nets a hat trick in Baby Rangers’ 6-5 loss to Baby Buffalos

Oscar Lindberg notched a hat trick this afternoon, increasing his goal total to four as the Rangers fell to the Sabres in overtime by a score of 6-5. Danny Kristo added a goal and two assists as well, increasing his line to 1-3-4 in two games. The 5-3-8 line between Kristo and Lindberg is more goals and points than everyone else on the baby Blueshirts roster combined. Josh Graves...

Lines for Rangers prospects at Traverse City

Per Steve Zipay, the forward lines for the Traverse City tournament are below: Danny Kristo, Oscar Lindberg, Jesper Fast Kyle Jean, Michael St. Croix, Thomas Spelling Josh Nicholls, Andrew Yogan, Anthony Duclair Klarc Wilson, Michael Kantor, Paxton Leroux That top line is not going to be fun for the opposition to play against. It’s truly a shame that these won’t be televised...

Not all positive, Traverse City providing important insight

The Rangers prospects need more seasoning Oscar Lindberg and Danny Kristo are clearly ready for more demanding challenges. With four goals in two games, Lindberg has continued his offensive production from Sweden and at this stage is well beyond the average prospect considering his experience in the SEL. Kristo too – being older, physically ready and with a senior world championship...

Rangers Season Opening 9 Game Road Trek

Once again, the Rangers will have to start a season with a long road trip since MSG is undergoing the final stage of its 3 year transformation into the world’s most expensive arena.  This year’s trek is a 9 game roadie which begins on October 3rd against the Coyotes in Glendale where Brad Richards scored […]

Musings: Traverse City is here – hockey is back.

A goaltender actually worth his salary: The King Corey Crawford got $6m per year long term? I think it’s clear at this stage that Henrik Lundqvist is going to get a serious pay rise. Some goaltenders are products of great teams (Crawford, a good but not great goalie may be exhibit A here) and some are great goaltenders who make teams better – a la Lundqvist. Unless he signs a...

Would Rangers Have Been Playoff Worthy Without Hank?

No one, not even the most optimistic Ranger fan, would argue that Henrik Lundqvist isn’t and hasn’t been the Blue Shirts most important player since he made his Manhattan debut back in 2005. He is arguably the best player in the league at what is considered by many to be the most important position in […]

Trade winds blowing on Broadway?

By Jim Reilly Eklund’s post speculating that the new Ranger’s coach Alain Vigneault is “quietly pushing for a big trade to change the Rangers culture” leaves me a bit skeptical. After all, this is a team that has played 32 playoff games the last two seasons and has won three Game Sevens. I don’t believe that Alain Vigneault was brought into the organization...
