BOSTON – Jordan Caron played the Bruins’ season opener like he wanted to keep his spot in the Boston lineup. He’ll look to further his case Saturday night when he’s back on the B’s third line. Winger Carl Soderberg‘s ankle isn’t quite ready for him to return to game action, so Caron will get another chance to showcase his skills on the third line when Boston takes on the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. Caron didn’t get on the scoresheet in the Bruins’ season opener Thursday against Tampa Bay, but he did play a very solid game and did have a goal inexplicably waved off by a referee. Caron will be back on the third-line left wing with Chris Kelly centering and Reilly Smith on the right. See the projected lines and defensive pairs for the Bruins and the Red Wings below. Bruins (1-0-0, 2 points) Milan Lucic — David Krejci — Jarome Iginla Brad Marchand — Patrice Bergeron — Loui Eriksson Jordan Caron — Chris Kelly — Reilly Smith Daniel Paille — Gregory Campbell — Shawn Thornton Zdeno Chara — Johnny Boychuk Dougie Hamilton — Dennis Seidenberg Torey Krug — Adam McQuaid Tuukka Rask Red Wings (2-0-0, 4 points) Hernik Zetterberg — Pavel Datsyuk — Justin Abelkader Johan Franzen — Stephen Weiss — Daniel Alfredsson Danny Cleary — Joakim Andersson — Todd Bertuzzi Drew Miller — Cory Emmerton — Mikael Sameulsson Niklas Kronwall — Jonathan Ericsson Dan DeKeyser — Jakub Kindl Kyle Quincey — Brendan Smith Jimmy Howard Filed under: Boston Bruins, Headlines
