Chicago Blackhawks News – Despite a terrible a loss last night the Blackhawks have something going for them that might be the key to repeating as Stanley Cup champions. Ben Smith, Marcus Kruger and Brandon Bollig are the key that will open the door. If you ask people who these three are you might get a response like, Ben Smith is a made up name, Marcus Kruger was obviously in a horror movie and Brandon Bollig is a guy that works construction with my dad. The truth is they make up possibly the best forth line in the NHL. Kruger really came alive during last season’s cup run… .GIF We all know coach Q has no problem putting them on the ice at any time with the knowledge they’ll get the job done. “They’re accustomed to knowing that defensively we want them to be responsible. Offensively, there’s something there, but their job description is to make sure you’re not scored on. If you can break even against (No. 1) lines like that, it’s a productive night for us.” Last night’s game for example, the Blackhawks 4th line got on the board early with Bollig’s goal and were constantly in Winnipeg’s zone all night. The hawks did in fact throw away two points last night. The fourth line has amassed 49 points including 17 goals and 39 assists. When compared to 2011-2012 with a very mixed forth line that only contributed 56 points for an entire season. If the hawks fourth line continues at it’s current level of play against top line talent there is a very good chance for a repeat. The Blackhawks have tremendous depth for a hockey club which most teams can’t boast about and with players in Rockford waiting in the wings we may have it for many years to come.   __________ Sources: NHL.com, Chicagoblackhawks.com Author informationRaven“When you win say little, when you lose say less.
