Chicago Blackhawks rookie right wing Andrew Shaw will have a hearing with NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan on Monday for his hit to the head of Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith.
Shaw's shoulder connected with Smith's head after the two met behind the net during Saturday's 4-3 overtime win by Chicago. The victory leveled the Western Conference quarterfinal series at one game apiece.
Shaw was assessed a five-minute major for charging and a game misconduct midway through the second period.
After remaining on the ice for several minutes, Smith was able to continue in the game.
