The Detroit Red Wings just obtained Andrew Murray, a 32 year old with 40 points and -7 rating in 220 career games. Whoo! Okay, so, the real meat of this trade was that Detroit sent Brad Stuart to San Jose in exchange for a 2014 pick. There’s no point in speculating about a pick that far ahead, but Brad Stuart is a mildly intriguing option for fantasy. I’ve made clear I have no love for Defensemen, but Stuart has averaged 20 points or more in four of the last five seasons, and he’ll be joining veteran Dan Boyle (48 points last year) to balance youthful Brent Burns (37 points) and Marc-Edouard Vlasic (23 points).  When you think of teams with Defensemen that have a potent offense, you think Nashville, Vancouver and St. Louis.  Maybe, just maybe, Stuart finds those 30+ seasons he had in San Jose upon his return.
