The St. Louis Blues have placed veteran defenseman Kris Russell on injured reserve with a groin injury.Russell was hurt in the first period of a 3-2 loss to the host Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night. The team said he will be reevaluated in three weeks.No corresponding roster move was immediately announced.The 24-year-old, acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier in the season, has five goals and three assists in 33 games.
