ST. LOUIS, Mo. - St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has acquired defenseman Jordan Leopold from Buffalo in exchange for a 2nd round pick and a conditional 5th round pick in the 2013 Entry Draft. The Blues have also assigned goaltender Jake Allen to the clubs American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Peoria Rivermen today. Leopold, 32, has dressed in 24 games for Buffalo this season posting eight points including two goals and six assists to go along with 14 penalty minutes. Overall, the 61, 206-pound defenseman has appeared in 10 National Hockey League (NHL) seasons between Calgary, Colorado, Flordia, Pittsburgh and Buffalo accumulating 202 points (65 goals, 137 assists) and 268 penalty minutes in 610 career games. The Golden Valley, Minnesota native was originally drafted by Anaheim in the 2nd round (44th overall) of the 1999 Entry Draft. Allen, 22, has appeared in 12 games with the Blues this season posting an 8-3-0 record including a 2.45 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. In 35 games with the Rivermen, the 62, 195-pound goaltender has a record of 13-19-2 including a 2.89 goals against average, .904 save percentage and two shutouts. The Fredericton, New Brunswick native was drafted by the Blues in the second round (34th overall) of the 2008 Entry Draft.
