ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues announced today that they have acquired the Calgary Flames' fifth round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft in exchange for defenseman Kris Russell. Russell played 33 games with St. Louis this season netting one goal and adding six assists for seven points along with nine penalty minutes. He has played 364 career NHL games scoring 23 goals and 72 assists for 95 points and 145 penalty minutes over six seasons. Russell was selected in the 2005 NHL Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the third round and hails from Caroline, Alberta. Terms of the one-way deal resulted in a one-year contract with an Average Annual Value of 1,500,000 per season.
