The Lightning rebounded from a late loss in their previous game and jumped out to a quick start on Tuesday dropping the Los Angeles Kings 5-1 in front of an announced crowd of 16310 at The Forum. Marty St. Louis had two goals and an assist Ryan Malone had a goal and two points while Steven Stamkos had a pair of assists. Sami Salo Ondrej Palat and Teddy Purcell also scored while Ben Bishop who missed the last game with a lower body injury stopped 30 shots for his fourth consecutive victory. Slava Voynov had the only Los Angeles goal while Jonathan Quick stopped 14 shots before being replaced after giving up three goals. Before many fans were able to find their seats the Lightning jumped out to the lead and it started with Malone intercepting a Drew Doughty pass attempt in the slot area which allowed Tampa Bay to keep the puck in the Los Angeles zone.
