Bad calls happen all the time.  So do good calls, but it is the bad ones that people remember.  The Ducks were victims of a bad call on Sunday in a 3-2 loss against Boston, with a goal waived off due to alleged goaltender interference.  While there is still some complaining about the call going on, what is being missed is the fact that the Ducks made a couple of critical errors that led to two quick goals by Boston in the middle period.Eliminate those errors, and the bad call doesn't matter.   The Ducks still have not figured that out, however.Boston was playing the second of back to back games and the Ducks should have capitalized.  They did not.   This is also why the Bruins are the defending Stanley Cup champions and the Ducks are not even in the running. In the second period Zdeno Chara and Benoit Pouliot scored 1:22 apart.   Francois Beauchemin failed to clear the puck from the zone.  Chara took his shot from just inside the blue liine and to add insult to injury, Beauchemi...

Brian Rolston's Resurgence Has Linemates Questioning His Age, But Not His Production on Bruins' Red-Hot Third Line

BOSTON – Brian Rolston has 11 points in his last six games and 12 points overall in 15 games since joining the Bruins. This after managing just nine points in 49 games with the Islanders this season. But it’s not the recent rise in production of the veteran forward that his linemate finds hard to believe. It’s the date on Rolston’s birth certificate that center Chris Kelly...

Turco gets first win since Feb. 2011

Marty Turco didn't belong in a suit behind an anchor desk doing analysis for the NHL Network. Nor should he have been wasting his talents overseas. He belonged back in the NHL. Sunday night, he proved it. Turco was the winning goalie in an NHL game for the first time in more than 13 months with the help of a disallowed goal that would have tied it, and the Boston Bruins got...

Bruins' 'Jekyll and Hyde' Play Can Be Remedied by More Consistent Offensive Effort

The Bruins have been, at times, this season a Jekyll and Hyde team. And more often than not, that comes down to what they're doing in the offensive zone. When the B's are going good, the goals come in bunches, as do the wins. That's why things like the return of Rich Peverley and the evolution of the Benoit Pouliot-Chris Kelly-Brian Rolston line come as much welcomed...

Bruins Can All of a Sudden Find Plenty of Positives in Play With Playoffs Just Around the Corner

On Dec. 28, Dennis Seidenberg beat Jason LaBarbera on a fluky goal in overtime out in Phoenix. The overtime winner helped the Bruins overcome a somewhat pedestrian effort to escape the desert with a 2-1 win, running their winning streak to seven games. That was the last time the Bruins had a winning streak of more than two games. Until Tuesday night, that is. The Bruins beat the...

Send Billy Jaffe, Andy Brickley, Jack Edwards and Mark Mowers Questions to be Answered on 'The Instigators'

The Bruins toyed with their fans’ hopes for a while this season, but it looks like the black and gold have gotten it together just in time for a playoff run. Bruins' Decent Start Easily Explainable by Jetlag Theory After West Coast Trip (Video)

The Bruins seem to have a knack for getting better as it gets later, if you look at how they excel in the third period and struggle during day games. Coming off a West Coast road trip, the team might be having some trouble adjusting back to Eastern Standard Time. Which, to NESN Nation's Dan Duquette, would explain why it's a tie game after one period on Tuesday.
