Dallas-stars-los-angeles
Who is Loui Eriksson, and how good can this guy be in Boston? That question has been asked a bunch since the blockbuster trade happened late last week. Eriksson was the alternate captain in Dallas, who constantly received praise for his two-way-style of play. For quite some time now the Bruins front office has been looking for players who can excel on both the offensive and defensive side of the ice. Eriksson can light the lamp, there is no doubt about it, but he also has the defensive awareness to be able to thrive in the system the B’s run. In order to get Eriksson to come to Boston, the Bruins had to part ways with Tyler Seguin, which received cheers along with some jeers from the fan base.  Some felt that Seguin was still too young to give up on, while others felt his lack of production  was becoming too much of a constant problem. News broke that Seguin required a guard at his door, to ensure that he wasn’t going out in during twilight to party and chase women. This type of pro...

Vote: Which Line is the Best Fit for Loui Eriksson?

The Bruins had a need at forward and they filled it with Loui Eriksson. The former Dallas Stars winger learned he would be coming to Boston in a blockbuster trade on July 4, and Eriksson has already made clear that he is excited to be joining the defending Eastern Conference champions. Eriksson’s two-way style served him well during his time with Dallas, as he averaged nearly a...

Contract Extensions for Tuukka Rask, Patrice Bergeron Down to ‘the Nitty-Gritty’

Tuukka Rask and Patrice Bergeron are going to be Bruins for a very long time. This isn’t officially in writing yet, but it sure sounds like it’s very, very close. Bruins president Cam Neely admitted as much Monday afternoon during a radio appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub, saying that extensions for the goalie and forward should be done in a matter of time. “Still close,...

Bruins sign Tuukka Rask to eight-year extension

After weeks of negotiations, the Bruins have officially come to terms on an extension for goaltender Tuukka Rask. Rask’s new deal is reportedly set at eight years, $56 million. The $7 million annual cap hit puts the 26-year old Rask alongside Pekka Rinne as the highest paid goaltender in the NHL. The deal, though pretty long, locks up an elite young goaltender long-term for the...

Bruins Sign Tuukka Rask Through 2021

A few moments ago the Boston Bruins organization announced they have reached a contact agreement with 26-year-old goaltender Tuukka Rask to the tune of $56,000,000.Looks like Tuukka got his payday and it's well deserved. The guy was rock solid in this years cup run, beat Tim Thomas in almost every stat, and was friggin' Miles Davis out there every goddamn night. In my opinion...

According to a story via Allan Muir of Sports Illustrated, the Boston Bruins have signed Thomas’ former understudy to a lucrative deal. Just one year after Rask stepped into Tim Thomas’ skates and took over as the team’s No. 1 goaltender, Rask and the...

With Rask's New Deal, What Happens With Malcolm Subban?

Yesterday news broke that Tuukka Rask signed an 8 year, $56 million dollar contract - making him the highest paid goaltender in the league. A lot of people went *******, saying that the Rask contract was "way too long" and "giving a goalie 8 years is stupid". They may be right, but in the end I'd rather have 8 years of Rask than 0 years of Rask.  Ian...
