I Heart Unencryption

As New England Patriots Super Bowl XLVI Championship T-Shirts flew across the Atlantic Ocean on Monday, rumours coming out of Vancouver regarding the true source of Chris Higgins’ mysterious infection were bouncing all around the World Wide Web.

Higgins Abs Breaking! What in the world is wrong with the Canucks Chris Higgins?

We're hearing at least Higgins abs are doing fine...

Despite the efforts of many #Canucks faithful to find an answer, little was made known through the Canucks media on Monday.

Thanks to the wonders of public WiFi and unencrypted networks, The NWSB has obtained emails exchanged between Higgins and Head Coach Alain Vigneault.

These emails date back over the last week, giving insight into the New York native’s unique injury.

Onto the Canucks breaking rumor…

Late last week

To: Alain Vigneault
From: Chris Higgins
Look Alain, I meant what I said before about my linemates. If I’m playing with him the entire season I need another week off to refocus.

To: Chris Higgins
From: Alain Vigneault
Excusez-moi? Look, we all know HE needs to use his linemates more, but what do you want me to do to a reigning Selke winner?

To: Alain Vigneault
From: Chris Higgins
I’m serious, the All-Star break was bogus, and seven days isn’t nearly enough time to see all your friends at home. If I have to play on the One Man Army line for the rest of the season I need some personal time.

To: Chris Higgins
From: Alain Vigneault
Didn’t you just return from time out of the lineup?

To: Alain Vigneault
From: Chris Higgins
Well yes but my little brother is having his championship football game at my old home field in Smithtown this week, I can’t miss it.

To: Chris Higgins
From: Alain Vigneault
*****! Alright Chris, but you owe me one. The things I do for you players! One minute you’re goofing off behind cameras, the next minute you’re posing nude in front of them, and before you know it I’m meddling in your personal lives!

To: Alain Vigneault
From: Chris Higgins
Thanks coach talk to you soon, I won’t let you down. I don’t plan on witnessing another championship trophy head off to Boston anytime soon.
P.S. Just booked a flight to NY connecting through Indianapolis, talk to you soon.

Communication between Higgins and Vigneault was steady until Saturday morning, when it is believed the forward last sent an Email from Vancouver International Airport.

Sunday

To: Chris Higgins
From: Alain Vigneault
What do I tell the media?

Monday

To: Chris Higgins
From: Alain Vigneault
Chris get back to me it’s game day and they’re all over us!

After messaging Higgins to no avail on Sunday and again Monday morning, Vigneault finally received a response from Higgins late Monday evening.

To: Alain Vigneault
From: Chris Higgins
Hey AV, sorry for the late response, it was one hell of a game. Tell them it was severe dehydration, I’ve been working really hard to kick this infection and I think the antibiotics I’ve been chugging back have been affecting my immune system.

To: Chris Higgins
From: Alain Vigneault
Do you have any symptoms?

To: Alain Vigneault
From: Chris Higgins
I woke up with a huge headache and uneasy stomach today, but don’t worry my abs are still looking strong.

To: Chris Higgins
From: Alain Vigneault
Just get back here as soon as possible.

Tuesday

To: Alain Vigneault
From: Chris Higgins
Will do coach, we’re just throwing a little party today for my brother’s big win, back in Vancouver on Wednesday.

To: Chris Higgins
From: Alain Vigneault
So what do I do in Nashville then?

To: Alain Vigneault
From: Chris Higgins
Shuffle the lines or something, I don’t know. Whatever you do just don’t split up the Sedins, LOL.

At this point in time it is believed that Chris Higgins is still in the New York Area, likely somewhere in downtown Manhattan, as there is believed to be a local athletic celebration going on in the area.
