Brian Lashoff has done everything Mike Babcock and the Detroit Red Wings have asked of him since he was pressed into duty in an injury-depleted defensive corps. Monday, the Wings rewarded the 22-year-old blue liner. Wings sign Defenseman Brian Lashoff to a 3-year extension. — Detroit Red Wings (@DetroitRedWings) February 25, 2013 Lashoff has three points (1 G, 2 A) and is a minus-3 in 15 games, but his impact has shown above the scoresheet. The Wings called up Lashoff as injuries took guys like Ian White, Brendan Smith and Carlo Colaiacovo out of the lineup. There’s no word yet on the financials of Lashoff’s new deal. He was set to be a restricted free agent after this season; he’s earning a little more than $500K in 2013.
