On Monday night, the Boston Bruins hosted the Winnipeg Jets at the TD Garden. One lucky fan in attendance was fortunate enough to walk out of the arena with a souvenir puck. Unfortunately for said lucky fan, in order to acquire such a prized memento from his evening watching NHL hockey, he had to sacrifice his glass of beer to obtain it. The cameras tracked down the lucky young man and the commentators addressed his unfortunately gained rubber chunk of memorabilia. What I’d like to know is how full the beer was when the puck came splashing down into his glass. If it was nearly empty, then it’s all good, but if it was full, that puck sure did cost him plenty. At the same time, let’s say the beer was full but the puck did not make all the tasty suds spill out of the glass. Is the beer still drinkable? Quite the conundrum. But he does have the treasured puck, which is pretty cool. And the Bruins won the game, too. I’m sure he walked out of TD Garden a pretty happy guy.
