The skinny: Ryan White deflected Jarred Tinordi’s shot from the point at 16:08 of the third period to give the Canadiens a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils Monday night at the Bell Centre. The Canadiens used a veteran-laden lineup and received strong performances from Max Pacioretty (two goals) P.K. Subban (two assists) and Carey Price (19 saves). Mr. Pac-Man: Pacioretty opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 2:22 of the second period as Daniel Brière found him in the high slot on a power play. On his second goal at 8:32 of the second period he took a stretch pass from Subban at the blue line split defencemen Andy Greene and Damon Severson and went strong to the net to beat Martin Brodeur with a backhander. P.K. is okay: The Canadiens received a scare early in the second period when Michael Ryder's shot was deflected in front ricocheted into the air eluded Price's attempt to catch it and went into the net off the goaltender's back to tie the score at 1-1.
