For The NHL Gamblers! Headline: Canucks In LA Monday Looking To Climb Over .500 You can forgive the Canucks just a little bit for their 5-1 Sunday loss in San Jose – nobody has come close to beating the Sharks so far in this young season. On Monday night, the Canucks take on the LA Kings, a team that has stumbled out of the gate – a 4-2 win last time out over Phoenix Saturday being their only win in four games thus far. Vancouver Canucks (2-2-0-1) at Los Angeles Kings (1-2-1-0) When: 10:30 PM ET, Monday, January 28, 2013 Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California Broadcast: TSN, FS-W Canucks vs. Kings Betting Lines from Bodog Vancouver Canucks +1½ -265 +119 Ov 5 -126 Los Angeles Kings -1½ +225 -131 Un 5 +114 Over/Under: Ov 5 -126 Un 5 +114 *NHL ATS Matchup Report* After an impressive 5-0 win in Anaheim Friday night, the Vancouver Canucks fell back to earth a tad Sunday – giveaways, the lack of an effective power play, and an unfriendly goal post all led to Vancouver’s 5-1 loss to the unbeaten Sharks. Vancouver went 0-7 on the power play against San Jose; they hit four goal posts and one crossbar. Things didn’t exactly go the Canucks’ way Sunday but things have a tendency of evening themselves out don’t they? A win Monday will give Vancouver a winning California road trip and will put them over .500 for the first time this season. For the Canucks they catch LA coming of a win but certainly not lighting the world on fire. All four lines played a big part Sunday creating pressure and generating a number of chances. Nobody played terribly bad against San Jose – the bounces just weren’t going Vancouver’s way. Dave’s Won’t Cost You Anything Free Betting Prediction The Los Angeles Kings have three ties and a win so far this season and the same old problem has reared its ugly head for this team – they have just eight goals scored so far in four games and their power play has yet to register a goal this season going 0-23. But Anze Kopitar who missed the first two games of the season for LA but is back in the lineup and is making a difference – he netted two goals in LA’s only win of the season Saturday. The defense and goaltending has struggled for the Kings as well thus far. The team is giving up 3.00 goals per game (not great when you are scoring 2.00), and standout goaltender Jonathan Quick has yet to steal a game for the Kings like we have all become accustomed to. Dave’s Won’t Cost You Anything Free Betting Prediction: A few trends to consider: • Under is 8-0-3 in VAN last 11 road games. • Under is 10-4 in LA last 14 overall. • Under is 31-14-9 in LA last 54 vs. Northwest. • LA are 13-6 in their last 19 home games. • Under is 8-2-3 in the last 13 meetings. The Vancouver Canucks rarely have two bad games in a row – there is simply too much pride and professionalism in the dressing room to let that happen. Expect a more disciplined more motivated group to show up Monday against a team that ended their playoff run last year. The Kings are solid up and down the lineup but certainly aren’t on top of their game ahead of their Monday night showdown. Free NHL Pick: Vancouver Canucks +119 The Under is certainly intriguing as well based on the trends! CLICK HERE CHECK OUT THE CANUCKS BLOG IN OUR CLUBHOUSE SECTION AT NWSB!
