PLAYERS: Jhonas Enroth
TEAMS: Buffalo Sabres
from Jerry Sullivan of the Buffalo News, Pegula ought to be mad. It’s time he did something about it. He needs to shake things up. There’s no culture of accountability in that operation. This is the 15th year of Regier and Ruff. It’s a culture of contentment, in which people become too comfortable, and it trickles down to the players. Do something. I would have fired Regier at the start. He could get rid of Ruff. Coaches get fired in the NHL all the time. Or make a big trade, something that will get the attention of the locker room and let the players know that inconsistent work ethic and spotty production won’t be tolerated…. The numbers say Miller is an average goalie. His career goals-against (2.59) and save percentage (.914) would rank below average in the NHL right now. His stats this year (3.12 GAA, .902 save pct.) are near the bottom of the league. He had one great season. That doesn’t make him elite. There’s no longer any justification for treating Miller like a franchise...

Big-Spending Sabres Are First-Half Flop

With new owner Terry Pegula throwing huge dollars at new players, the Sabres seemed ready to make their big move this season.Instead they have fallen to 10th place in overall Eastern Conference standings as the Christmas break nears. You know things are bad when a 4-1 loss at Ottawa is considered a step in the right direction. So what went wrong? A lot of things, actually: Injuries...

Can It Get Any Worse For The Sabres?

from John Vogl of the Buffalo News, The players keep saying they need to work harder, then forget to do it. The former all-world goaltender is near the bottom of the NHL in every category. The coach continues to stare at his long injured list. There is a mix of frustration, anger, disappointment and resignation in Sabreland. It all came out this weekend after an 8-3 loss to Pittsburgh...

Someone who likes to cheer at the F'N Center

Much has been made lately about the Sabres play at home. News reporters, fans, and hockey pundits everywhere have been quick to point out the flaws of the team at the F'N Center. However, there's something else that's been bothering me about the games in Buffalo. It's a factor that's not on the ice. Its the fans sitting in their seats. Ever since last...
