Repeat offender of dirty hits, Dan Carcillo, of the Chicago Blackhawks, received a seven-game suspension tonight for his hit on Tom Gilbert of the Edmonton Oilers.
Carcillo was also suspended back in October under the reign of Brendan Shanahan.
Here’s the Shanahan explanation:
Carcillo’s Monday game was a much-anticipated return after being sidelined with a concussion.

Dan Carcillo suspended indefinitely after atrocious hit
One of the league's worst cheap-shot artists, Daniel Carcillo, was suspended indefinitely after a brutal hit on Tom Gilbert. The play occurred when the two were racing for a puck and Carcillo can be seen shoving Gilbert from the goal line into the end boards.
