The Colorado Avalanche visit the St. Louis Blues for the third and final time this season as the Blues are still looking to clinch a playoff spot with only three games left in the regular season, all on home ice. The Avalanche have defeated the Blues twice this season, both in Denver as the Avalanche won 1-0 in overtime back in February and 5-3 back on Sunday night, spoiling the Blues' chance at a playoff spot that night as they look to do it again in St. Louis. The Blues (26-17-2) were on a three game winning streak when they visited Colorado Sunday night, but Brian Elliott, who was 8-1-0 in his last nine games, was pulled after giving up his fourth goal late in the second period as Jake Allen took over in net. Whatever it is, the last place Avalanche (15-23-7) have been giving the Blues fits this season but the Blues can put all that aside with clinching a playoff berth tonight, needing a win or an overtime loss. The Blues look for their fourth straight win at home as they w...

Blues Clinch Playoff Spot

After their second overall finish in the Western Conference last year, expectations were high that the St Louis Blues were at the beginning of a long period of playoff berths and of course, another appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals.  I was rather hoping for a dominant regular season showing, that was stress free and full of success.  That was silly.  Pro hockey is anything...
