The Hockey Guys:
Columbus Blue Jackets
New York Rangers
By Joe Depto (@JoeDepto)
With just over 24 hours remaining until the 2013 rosters must be finalized, the Columbus Blue Jackets’ 2013 opening night roster seems to have already taken shape.
This afternoon, the club announced that 2011 second round draft pick Boone Jenner would be returned to Oshawa of the OHL, where he will likely finish the season. It should be noted that if Oshawa were to be eliminated from the 2013 OHL playoffs before the Columbus Blue Jackets season ends, Jenner could be back in Columbus for the final stretch of the 2013 season. Whether that is probable or not will be told in the coming months.
In addition to Jenner, defenseman Tim Erixon, who was acquired last summer from the New York Rangers as part of the Rick Nash trade, will be returned to the Springfield Falcons of the AHL. Erixon was often paired with Adrian Aucoin throughout camp and was in a bona fide battle with John Moore, the club’s first round pick in 2009, for the sixth defensive spot o...

The Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned promising forward Boone Jenner to his junior team and newly acquired defenseman Tim Erixon to Springfield, Mass., of the American Hockey League.
The moves allowed the Blue Jackets to get down to the 23-man limit for their opener at Nashville on Saturday night.

Not so long ago Steve Mason and Sergei Bobrovsky were considered two of the brightest young goaltending stars in the NHL.
Now the 24-year-olds are vying for playing time - and maybe a jump start to their careers - with the rebuilding Columbus Blue Jackets.
Mason won the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year in 2008-09, the only season the Blue Jackets have made the playoffs...

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- There's a new, gigantic scoreboard hanging over center ice at Nationwide Arena.
The Columbus Blue Jackets, who play their games there, also have a new team president, a new head coach and six new players on the roster -- and no Rick Nash.

John Davidson, the new president...
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Brandon Dubinsky was traded from one of the best teams in the NHL to the worst.
Yet when he looks around at his new Columbus Blue Jackets teammates, he doesn't have a whole lot of regrets about leaving the bright lights of New York along with the Stanley Cup aspirations of his old team, the Rangers, to join a team just hoping to be respectable.
