It may seem a little early to nominate a comeback player of the year for the NHL, however I have one for you to consider,   New York Islanders Goalie Evgeni Nabokov.  When he was with the San Jose Sharks, Nabokov was one of the premier goalies in the game.  For example, in 2007-8, Nabokov was 46-21 with a Goals Against Average of 2.14.  When he was claimed by the Islanders on waviers AFTER he had signed with the Detroit Red Wings, it was reported he would not play and his career this side of the pond was cast in serious doubt.   He did end up reporting and played last year for the Islanders getting a 19-18 record and a GAA of 2.55.  Then we fast forward to the strike marred NHL season.  Nabokov is back with the Isles, but this team has not gone anywhere in a while.  I did not even consider that they would be in the playoff hunt in the East, however they are.  This is in no small way connected to Nabokov playing clutch hockey.  Last night, he shutout the Florida Panthers 3-0.  He is ...
