Coming off what was considered his break out season two years ago, Travis Zajac struggled to find the same consistency in 2010-11. Losing line-mate Zach Parise for most of the season obviously didn’t help. Now that Parise is back and healthy, will the former 25 goal scorer rediscover his offensive touch of two seasons ago?
The New Jersey Devils drafted Zajac back in 2004 with the belief that he could someday be a top line center. When he posted back to back 60+ point seasons, it appeared the Winnipeg native was well on his way to fulfilling that potential. But, Zajac’s season took a turn for the worse when a knee injury to Parise in late October sidelined him for essentially the rest of the season. It was at that point it became obvious perhaps Zajac may not the player many believed him to be.
Even while playing a sound game in all zones, Zajac does not posses dynamic offensive skills. He relies heavily on his line-mates to help generate offensive chances. He plays at hi...
