The Phoenix Coyotes recalled center Andy Miele from its American League Hockey affiliate in Portland, Maine.
Miele signed an entry-level contract with the Coyotes in April, one week before he was named the Hobey Baker Award winner as the NCAA's top hockey player.
At Miami of Ohio, Miele had 24 goals and 47 assists and a nation-leading 71 points. It was the highest total in Division I since 2002-03.
Miele also tied a school record with a 17-game point streak.
