The New Jersey Devils acquired forward Alexei Ponikarovsky from the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday for a 2012 fourth-round draft pick and defenseman Joe Sova.Ponikarovsky, 31, has seven goals and eight assists in 49 games for the Hurricanes this season.In 602 career NHL games with Toronto, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and Carolina the six-foot-four, 226-pound Ukrainian has 128 goals and 168 assists for 296 points.Ponikarovsky is currently signed to a one-year contract for $1.5 million.
