Per Tom Gulitti on twitter, Bryce Salvador had an MRI on his foot Monday which revealed a stress fracture that landed him on injured reserved.
The 37 year old Salvador has not been in the line up since Oct. 23 due to a death in his family. He was however put back on the active roster on Monday, but he was not at practice. The injury may now be more serious than first thought, this according to Tom Gulitti of NorthJersey.com. He got injured while blocking a shot against the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 4-1 loss. The X-rays came back negative according to GM Lou Lamoriello.
The loss of their captain would be a blow to the team if he is out for a significant length of time. Ryane Clowe, their big summer catch is out with a head injury and Cory Schneider will be out as well. The 27 year old missed this past weekends game against the Bruins and he also missed practice on Monday with a lower body injury. Salvador was put on IR retroactive to last Tuesday, so he could be activated today.
