Going against the Minnesota Wild and former teammate Zach Parise on Sunday, the New Jersey Devils had other off ice activities going on.
Goalie Cory Schneider was activated off the injured reserved list, while defenseman Peter Harrold was put on it. 2010 second round pick Jonathon Merrill was called up from Albany to take Harrolds place while he is out. Schneiders return meant he would get the start against the Wild, this According to Tom Gulitti of Fire & Ice, a start that ended in a 4-0 loss. Harrold has not seen the ice since October 22nd.
Merrill’s recall put him in position to play in his first NHL game last night. The former University of Michigan player spent part of last season in the AHL after leaving college.
