I cannot believe this when I read it. Dallas Stars beat writer Mike Heika thanks Jaromir Jagr Slowed down the play of Jamie Benn. "I think Benn's play has a lot to do with Jaromir Jagr as his linemate. Benn has been a lead dog his whole life, and so he has set the pace — a very fast pace — for his line at every level. If you look at a Jamie Benn highlight reel tape, all of his big plays are galloping through open ice or skating around five players while dangling the puck. He had blinders on, really, and that's what made him so good. This season, he constantly deferred to Jagr, who plays a slow-it-down, puck-possession game. There were times when you could see Benn literally waiting for Jagr to catch up. My guess is that as we move forward, Benn will get back to his old way of playing. I would love to see him kill penalties in the final 12, because that's where he really got his gallop on in the past, with a poke check and a breakaway.' The HockeyFanLand Insight:...
