TEAMS: New York Rangers, San Jose Sharks
Leading up to the Rangers/Sharks game Monday night, there had been a huge divide between Rangers fans on recalling Sean Avery. You had the one side that felt his antics have become tiresome, while the his cult-like followers felt he will add a much needed spark to a lifeless Rangers squad. Full disclosure, I am a card carrying member of the #AveryArmy. Most of the Avery fans solely blame John Tortorella for neutering "The Grate One" rendering him a shell of his former in-your-face self. The anti-Avery crowd obviously differs, saying Avery made his own bed in Dallas and hasn't been the same since.Meanwhile, Tortorella has created his own fracture between Rangers fans as the constant line juggling and lack of playoff success is wearing thin on some, while the Torts supporter points to his change of culture as the Rangers are now trying to build a winner from within not through free agency. You know, except for that minor Brad Richards signing. ;)But then something happene...

Avery On Fourth Line Rotation; Appears To Be Healthy Scratch
Following the New York Rangers dominating 5-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Monday night, a game in which every player on the roster had a strong game, the focus shifted to the newly recalled Sean Avery, and where he would fit in the lineup after such a strong showing. No Avery Tomorrow vs. Ducks
As I anticipated, head coach John Tortorella has confirmed that he will be going with the same lineup tomorrow versus the Ducks as he did on Monday against the San Jose Sharks. That means Sean Avery, who practiced with the team for the first time today, will not suit up.
Avery told the Daily News that he completely understands why he will not be in the lineup, and agrees with...
A Vigororous Re-Torts From New York
Sharks center "Jumbo" Joe Thornton has never been considered one of the NHL’s Bravehearts. A player his size should dominant play night after night . . . yet he plays a fairly passive game in most gamesSo this salvo at the Rangers after a 5-2 San Jose loss at New York seemed a bit out of place: “They were probably the softest team we played on the trip. We should have...

A letter from Sean Avery
Dear internet ********,
Guess who’s back? Avery’s back. Tell a friend.
I guess you needed me after all, didn’t you, Torts? I know Tortorella hates it when I call him Torts, so I’mma keep doing it. You sent me down to the whale? IN HARTFORD? You guys know how I feel about whales. You know I have a strict “no fatties” rule.
