All Things Avs:
Typically, something like this would go in our DU hockey blog (Read more of Mike Chambers at the All Things DU Pioneers blog.) but I’ll put it here because Pioneers sophomore wing Jason Zucker is going to be a thorn in the Avalanche’s side in the coming years.
Zucker, who recently captained the U.S. World Junior Team and is tied for eighth nationally in points-per-game (1.36, 34 points in 25 games), is a prized Wild prospect who is expected to sign with the club when DU’s season ends, forgoing his final two years of NCAA eligibility. This interview clip is aimed at Zucker’s health — he absorbed a dangerous, blide-side hit from Minnesota freshman Kyle Rau in last Friday’s game against the Gophers at Magness Arena. Zucker was reportedly knocked out, after Rau’s left shoulder or forearm pancaked his head against the glass. But he says here that he never lost consciousness, which, as you can tell, surprised me because I was told different by a DU coach earlier this week. Zucker, who mi...

Marek Zidlicky won't play tonight
Evander Kane had two goals in regulation and the winner in the fourth round of a shootout, lifting the Winnipeg Jets to a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night.
Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom stopped two of the first three shots he saw in the shootout, but he fell to 3-5 this season and 15-29 in his career in those situations. The Wild ended their streak of four regulation...

Wild GM Chuck Fletcher contradicted Marek Zidlicky's agent that he has waived his no-trade to go to New Jersey
A deal may be in the works to bring Minnesota's righty defenseman and power play pointman Marek Zidlicky to the Devils.
Reports say Zidlicky, 35, has agreed to waive his no-trade clause to come to New Jersey, where fellow Czechs Patrik Elias and Petr Sykora play.
Reports also say...
