Both Brandon Dubinsky and Ruslan Fedotenko will miss tonight's hasn't against the Montreal Canadiens.  Tonight will mark the third straight game Dubinsky has missed with a sore shoulder he sustained Tuesday. The hope is a couple extra days rest will have him ready for Tuesday against Nashville.

Fedotenko will miss his first game of the season after leaving last night with back spasms.

Kris Newbury, who was recalled today, will take Fedotenko's spot in the lineup.

The Rangers noted that both Brandon Dubinsky and Ruslan Fedotenko took part in the morning skate, but John Tortorella will see how they feel before he settles on a lineup.Dubinsky says his shoulder pain is bearable, while Fedotenko notes that his back feels much better and as of this morning is ready to play....at least one of these guys better be ready to play or the Rangers will...

Dubinsky To The Rescue?

The Rangers paltry offense has been bailed out over the past 9 games (in which they scored a meagre 19 goals) by the stellar goaltending and the overachieving defense. With Marc Staal getting back to his usual game shape the recent dip in play by Stu Bickel (rookie, to be expected) can be compensated for. However, it goes without saying that this offense needs to do more. With the...

Three Games, Three Playoff Teams, One Test To Get Back On Track

The Rangers have lost two of three, and looked exceptionally poor in those two losses. Sandwiched in between was one dominant performance over the Toronto Maple Leafs, but the playoff-bound Ottawa Senators and the woeful Montreal Canadiens took the Rangers to school, beating the Blueshirts by a combined score of 7-1. The Rangers were without Brandon Dubinsky for both games and without...

Better Relief Celebration: Boyle or Dubinsky?

During last night's 3-0 Rangers victory over Toronto, Brian Boyle scored his first goal in 22 games and celebrated by looking to the heavens and giving thanks (video here)...Which was very reminiscent of Brandon Dubinsky's celebration after waiting 15 games to score his first goal of the season (video here)......so the question is, who had the better relief goal celebration...

Newbury Recalled With Dubinsky, Fedotenko Hurting

Rangers In Toronto to Battle the Leafs

Coming off a 3-0 shutout loss to the Ottawa Senators, the New York Rangers will look to turn things around tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre. For the Rangers, their focus has to be on getting pucks to the net and making most of their chances. In their last two games, the team has scored just one goal in regulation while not being able to convert on...

Jan Levine: Game 42: NYR-TOR, Second Half Starts North of the Border

Pregame: Rangers Seek Improvement Against Leafs

The New York Rangers cannot win every game on their schedule, and everyone knows that, but Thursday's 3-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators at Madison Square Garden was unacceptable. By climbing to the top of the standings with repeated winning streaks, the Rangers have set the expectations ultra high for themselves this season. Therefore, losing a game in which they had opportunity...

Kris Newbury Called Up

The Rangers have called up Kris Newbury from the CT Whale. The call up is likely a precautionary move to replace Ruslan Fedotenko in the lineup, who left last night’s game with back spasms. Brandon Dubinsky is still a game time decision with his shoulder injury. If Dubi can play, then Newbury likely won’t  dress. If he can’t then expect to see Newbury slide into Fedotenko’s...
