In addition to bringing in Dylan McIlrath on an ATO yesterday, the Connecticut Whale announced two additional roster moves for the Whale’s playoff push. Defenseman Sam Noreau (5th – 2011) and forward Shane McColgan (5th – 2011) were released from their respective ATO’s to make room for McIlrath.
McColgan joined the Whale on April 3rd, and played in five regular season games...
As expected, Dylan McIlrath (1st-2010) will be joining the Connecticut Whale for their playoff push on an ATO. Whale’s Moose Jaw Warriors were eliminated from the WHL playoffs over the weekend by fellow Rangers’ prospect Michael St. Croix and the Edmonton Oil Kings.
McIlrath played with the Whale on an ATO last season as well. In two games, he finished with seven PIMs and a -1 rating.

One could say that the effort in that game wasn’t where it should be for...

The Rangers opened up the series with a 301 win over the Capitals at MSG. This was one of those games that saw it all: great goaltending, offense, defense, and penalty killing. The powerplay was lacking for both sides, but that’s what happens in this kind of game.
Here’s the scoring:
There’s not much to be said on this goal but dumb luck. Artem Anismov picked up...

Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Brandon Dubinsky (lower body) was not on the ice for today's optional practice, but was seen slowly getting around the Rangers' practice facility on crutches....in previous years, the possibility of losing Dubinsky long term would be a scary thought, but, to be honest, I don't think it would have that negative an affect...
