Bruce Berlet at The Howlings takes a look at the recently recalled Tim Erixon which includes this quote from Whale teammate Wade Redden...

"He's got a lot of patience and a lot of poise and makes some real nice plays along the blueline and on the power play offensively," Whale veteran defenseman Wade Redden said. "And he can find guys in front. We've seen a few times this year where he's made good shots to the net that led to tips; he finds those sticks in front of the net. He's a big guy with a good stick who does a lot of good things."

Erixon credits Redden, fellow veteran defenseman Brendan Bell and Whale assistant coach J.J. Daigneault, who handles the defense, for steady improvement in his first season with the Whale.

Whale head coach Ken Gernander on Erixon...

"He has been playing well, and there's a lot to like about his game. The Rangers wanted to make sure that when they sent him down that he continued to play lots of minutes in lots of situations and develop given that it's his first year in the league. Playing in all situations is part of a player's development, and if they're able to handle it, then they're used in those situations."

Torts on Erixon (Via Blueshirts United)...

"This is part of the process for a young kid: up, maybe not play, maybe we'll see him in another month, who knows," explained the head coach. "But the more that happens the more he gets information and learns from both teams. It's a good thing for him because he knows he is close, and if he continues to work at his game maybe he'll get a whack at it. It's all good."

At yesterday's practice Erixon was paired with the injured Marc Staal during drills.

...i wouldn't be surprised to see Erixon in one of the next two games, especially Saturday in Phoenix if the Rangers struggle tonight against the Blues.
