Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux is scheduled to have a disciplinary hearing on Monday with the NHL regarding his hit on New Jersey's Dainius Zubrus during Sunday night's game, a 4-2 Devils win. In the waning seconds of the second period, Giroux caught up to Zubrus after the Devils forward had sent the puck ahead, and drove his right shoulder up into Zubrus' chin. Giroux, who leads the Flyers in playoff scoring with 17 points, was assessed a two-minute penalty for contact to the head. Zubrus, whose slap shot some two minutes earlier gave the Devils a 3-2 lead, returned to the ice for the third period. He eventually closed the scoring with an empty-net goal with 45 seconds remaining in the game. New Jersey leads the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semifinal series, three games to one, with Game 5 scheduled for Tuesday night in Philadelphia.
