Pro Sports Daily:
Justin Fontaine scored the winning goal at the end of the second period shortly after being moved up to the top line. He scored on a rebound off a Clayton Stoner shot. Jason Pominville added an empty-netter.
Josh Harding was excellent again in net stopping 16 shots and recording his first shutout since Jan. 20.
Wild starting defenseman Jonas Brodin exited the game just three minutes in when he took a puck to the face.
MEANING: The Wild snapped their three-game losing streak and improved to 4-3-3. They are 3-0-2 at home.

Nothing beats the taste of sweet vindication. I wish I had made some bets on this one. Former Minnesota Duluth Bulldog Justin Fontaine is giving the Minnesota Wild reasons to keep him in the line up. Fontaine has played in 10 games so far and has scored (2g-0a—2pts) so far this season and he’s a plus +5. Last Summer, I wrote this.

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Wild goalie Josh Harding refused to take credit for his first shutout of the season Tuesday in Minnesota's 2-0 win over Nashville.
Indeed, this victory belonged to the entire defense.
Minnesota held the Predators to 16 shots on goal, all of which were stopped by Harding, as it improved to 4-3-3 on the season with the win. The Wild blocked an additional 19...
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A mid-game adjustment was key to the Minnesota Wild earning two points Tuesday night.
Moved to the top line, Justin Fontaine scored late in the second period, Josh Harding stopped 16 shots for his first shutout of the season and the Wild beat the Nashville Predators 2-0.
Jason Pominville added an empty-netter for the Wild, who have scored just seven goals in...
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Minnesota Wild left the state of Florida with a pair of losses after scoring a combined two goals against the Lightning and Panthers. Minnesota has now scored just one goal in each of its last three games as the offense continues to falter.
The Wild are currently tied for 25th in the NHL in scoring with just 2.11 goals per game. Even two of their three wins...
Getting hit in the face with a puck doesn’t typically yield positive outcomes for a player, and Jonas Brodin was no exception on Tuesday night.
The second-year Minnesota defenseman took a brutal shot to the face on only his second shift of the game against the Nashville Predators. Brodin left the game and was taken to a local hospital for X-rays where he was diagnosed with a broken...
After being struck in the face by a puck Tuesday night against Nashville, the Minnesota Wild got bad news about their defenseman Jonas Brodin.
The club announced on Wednesday that Brodin suffered a broken cheekbone and will be out indefinitely. Wild head coach Mike Yeo told the team website, “It was gruesome to watch, it’s disappointing.” The 20 year old left the contest...
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin took a nasty puck to the face in the Wild's 2-0 win over the Nashville Predators, absorbing Gabriel Bourque's clearing attempt with his teeth, and Pro Hockey Talk's James O'Brien posted a video of the incident from an NBC-telecast game... As glad as he was to see the end of an unproductive road trip Mike Yeo knows that coming home to Xcel Energy Center is not a cure-all for his team’s ills. The Wild coach said his players needed a good day of practice to set themselves up for Tuesday’s game against Nashville and he was happy with the work they put in on Monday.
In a highly focused and energetic session that covered...
The Ottawa Sun is reporting that the final chapter of the Dany Heatley trade demand saga has finally come to an end. Sens owner Eugene Melnyk had filed a grievance against Heatley and his agent J.P. Barry, which was being defended by the NHLPA, aleging financial losses from Heatley's refusal to waive his no trade clause to accept a trade the club had worked out to the Edmonton...
The Nashville Predators and Minnesota Wild celebrated the fact they were on national TV by throwing a yawn party. Were it not for Pekka Rinne‘s heroics, there would be just about nothing to write about.
In the end, however, Minnesota beat the Preds 2-0 in front of 17,651 at Xcel Energy Center and in front of an NBC Sports Network broadcast.
The Wild brought the intensity early...
Here are your leftover thoughts (a/k/a “Leftgovers”) for last night’s game.

FINAL: 2-0, Minnesota (RECAP)

4. #24 Matt Cooke ~ 3G 3A = 6pts
5. #29 Jason Pominville ~ 4G 0A = 4pts
Where was the Nashville Predators' offense Tuesday night? It was obvious from puck drop to the final horn the team was flat and not producing any scoring chances, leaving Pekka Rinne, who stopped twenty-seven shots, out to dry. Nashville had a total of sixteen shots on goal (3, 6, 7) -- a season-low thus far.
The most frustrating of it all was the Wild were playing with five...
You heard it hear 1st. I think Thursday's matchup is an interesting preview night for Team USA's 1st pairing for the upcoming Olympics with Ryan Suter and Justin Faulk taking the ice against each other. Suter is a shoe-in, very likely the team's #1 defender and a left shot. Justin Faulk is an up-and-comer, a well-rounded player and a reasonable fit for Suter as a right...
