Which Michigan targets released their announcement dates? A current 2016 Michigan commit impressed last weekend at the Rivals Underclassmen Challenge. Who was it? Did Mike Weber actually commit to USC? Find out in this Fridays version of The Future Huddle. Josh McMillon and Tyriq Thompson Release Their Announcement DateFour-star Linebacker Josh McMillon told 24/7’s Barton Simmons that he will be announcing his college choice August 22nd. The Memphis product is ranked as a four-star prospect on all major recruiting websites. In last Friday’s version of The Future Huddle, I mentioned that McMillon recently named Alabama and Michigan his leaders at the moment. Not much has changed in the past week however; I do feel like Michigan is trailing Alabama by quite a bit in his recruitment. McMillon will be in Ann Arbor later this month for the Big House BBQ so it’s imperative that his visit “knocks him off his feet.” McMillon wasn't the only 2015 linebacker target to decide this week when they will be announcing. Tyriq Thompson told 24/7’s Evan Flood that he will be committing once his high school senior year is completed. Michigan has found themselves in a great position for finding their next linebacker in 2015.  If they were to miss out on McMillon, they would be left with Asmar Bilal, Osa Masina, or Tyriq. With all these prospects announcing at different times throughout the year, Michigan would be able to swing their attention to a different prospect if they were to miss out one and, still land that valuable 2nd linebacker they desperately need for 2015.Mike Weber commits to USC, or Does He?On Thursday morning, Michigan fans on twitter had full panic mode set in. 24/7 had some sort of error on Mike Weber’s player profile page, saying that he had committed to USC. No worries though, as this was clearly an error as USC hasn't even offered him a scholarship yet. Even Mike took to twitter to debunk these rumors.  I'm not committed to USC that website made a mistake I guess, I don't have the offer from there— Uncle Mike (@mikeweber25) July 17, 2014I still firmly believe that Mike will end up as the only running back taken in Michigan’s 2015 recruiting class. Weber will be in attendance later this month for the Big House BBQ.  Messiah deWeaver Impresses at Rivals CampLast weekend Rivals held their Underclassmen Challenge in Jacksonville, Florida. Current 2016 Michigan commit Messiah deWeaver looked very impressive being ranked as the fourth best quarterback in attendance. Josh Helmholdt from Rivals.com had this to say about Messiah’s recent improvements; “A year ago, the Ohio native had real loose mechanics and struggled with consistency, but he has developed into one of the more well-rounded quarterbacks in the 2016 class with clean mechanics and good footwork. The recent Michigan commit made some of his best throws during one-on-one play, fitting passes into tight windows and varying his trajectory well.”It goes without saying that this is good news. Part of the reason I think Messiah was ranked so low in initial 2016 rankings was due to his mechanics and footwork. Now that he has adjusted them, he should be able throw the ball with more velocity and accuracy. The next time the rankings come out, I expect Messiah to climb into the upper echelon of quarterbacks for 2016. Other Notes:2015 ATH Brian Colewill be visiting Ann Arbor on July 25th and will be staying the night. Cole was originally slated to visit Michigan in late June but, his plans fell through due to the coaching staff being on vacation. Now that all the coaches are back, Cole will be able to see the facilities and campus first hand. Cole is the only prospect scheduled to visit on the 25th, and will get the full attention of the coaching staff. Although his recruitment has been hard to read at times, I believe he will end up staying in-state and playing for either Michigan or, that team over in East Lansing. Current Florida Gator commit Marcus Lewis told GatorBait’s Luke Stampini that he will try and make the trip from Washington (D.C) to Ann Arbor for the Big House BBQ. Lewis also announced that he will take an official visit to Ann Arbor once the season has started.  If Michigan is able to make a good impression on Lewis, this could prove to be vital in finding that last cornerback recruit for 2015. Marcus is currently ranked as the #8 CB and #84 overall prospect in 2015 according to Rivals.com Current Michigan commit Alex Malzone is taking on-line classes via the University of Missouri to help gain extra credits, so he can enroll early at Michigan. Having Alex enroll early would benefit both himself and the team, as it would give him extra time to learn the playbook and get to know his surroundings at Michigan. 2015 target Chris Clark is also planning to enroll early. 2015 Linebacker target Osa Masina who recently included Michigan in his top 5 will announce his college decision at the Army All American game in January.2016 CB target Patrice Rene is still unconfirmed for the Big House BBQ but, is doing his best to make it down for the event. I've had the chance to watch Rene play multiple times, as he lives only thirty minutes from me and, I can honestly say this kid will be a difference maker at the next level. Although it’s sometimes hard to gauge how good a Canadian prospect is due to the quality of talent on both teams, I don’t get this feeling with Patrice. If Rene is able to make the trip to Ann Arbor for the BBQ, I expect the coaching staff to finally offer him the scholarship he so patiently has been waiting for. Patrice will transfer to Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia to play out the rest of his high school career. You can follow Travis Cooper on Twitter @Maizenbluecoop
