DALLAS – The Predators acquired defenseman Hal Gill for his penalty killing prowess. Little did they know that, in his debut, Gill would be sitting in the box in the final two minutes watching his team try to kill off a penalty and preserve a one-goal lead.“We were talking about that – the guy that loves to be in that situation right at the end of the game is in the box,” head coach Barry Trotz said. “I think the guys really wanted to get that for him. He hasn’t been with us very long, but he seems to fit in and he’s got an infectious personality.”Gill was called for a tripping penalty with 2:05 left in regulation, but the Preds held on for the 3-2 victory.“It’s no fun in the box, especially at the end of the game like that in a close game,” Gill said. “I’m really happy they got that one for me.”Trotz added, “When he’s on the ice he just engulfs you; that’s probably the best way to describe him. He kills the cycle and just engulfs the person. He’s more about substance
