This is my first piece entitled "Habs By the Numbers", and it will be weekly look at the Habs results and/or what's making Canadiens news this week. The twist? It's all done by...

  • I have never heard or seen anything like Subban's shinanigans in my sixty years around the game I love. In my humble opinion the CH coaching staff are not in any position to put this kide in his place so consequently this is not going away in fact it is just going to get worse.... VERY SAD ...but it's time for Gauthier to shop this talented player for a good (big)power forward

Steven Hindle: Shelving Markov

Time to Park #79? It's been all quiet on the Andrei Markov front for quite awhile now, partly thanks to the media jumping all over PK Subban as some sort of asset that could/should be traded and partly because the Habs roller coaster season continues to roll through some serious peaks and valleys. Destroying the #1 overall team in the NHL last night was a great way to...

Habs News, Rants, Thomas, Ovechkin and More

Morning puck fans. According to a report on RDS, Jacques Martin still owns a role within the Canadiens organization. This only adds to a point I have made earlier this season: the Habs keep far too many remnants of previous management teams. Bob Gainey, who was replaced by his assistant Pierre Gauthier, remains as a consultant for Geoff Molson. Randy Cunneyworth, who...

P.K. Subban And The Inconsistencies of NHL Discipline

There's something delicious about this image when you're talking supplemental discipline in the NHL. It's obvious that few people think that the NHL does a good job of handing out supplemental discipline. Be it Colin Campbell or Brendan Shanahan, there's something to disagree with in nearly every decision. On-ice officiating can be questionable enough due to the...

A rare meeting between two of the most successful franchises in NHL history will have the stage to itself Wednesday night as the league's final contest before the All-Star break.
