I'd planned to keep things a little more businesslike than the Triple Deke at Winging it Motown (who ends up being downright eloquent) when it comes to welcoming the man who most certainly marched to the beat of his own jazz ensemble, one Jiri Hudler, back to Detroit...But even someone who's purposefully not plugged into the streams of player-related gossip and innuendo like myself can tell you that less than family-friendly rumors about Hudler's off-ice activities followed him around like nobody's business. That being said, I don't believe that the Red Wings cut ties with Hudler over "hookers and candy," as the Twitter meme goes--a combination of estranged relations from his decision to bolt for Dynamo Moscow in 2009-2010 and the plain old fact that he was asking for the kind of money the team would ideally like to pay Valtteri Filppula ($4 million a season for 4 years) in a cap-is-going-down NHL world, so the Wings let Hudler chase his payday, and h...

Flames-Red Wings Preview

The Calgary Flames insist they are a better team than their record indicates. They can prove it by ending their recent road struggles and prevent the Detroit Red Wings from notching a fourth consecutive home victory Tuesday night. Calgary (1-3-2) took a 2-1 lead over Chicago on Jay Bouwmeester's goal with 35 seconds left Saturday before the Blackhawks tied it with 2.3 seconds...

Happy Trails

We talk about hookers a lot here at A2Y. I can't explain the reasoning.  It just happens.  We respect them, the service they provide and the long hours they put in to work themselves through law/medical/welding school.   Jiri Hudler was one of our favorites for a long time.  He liked hookers too.  Don't judge. It's just science. Continue reading "Happy Trails"

Where We Stand 2.4.11

STANDINGS WATCH! I'm here on site (in Sioux Falls, SD) and it's time to look at where we stand so far this season.  I tried to get in to get an interview with Jordan but they said 'nope, you can't do it - he's a angry as a hell fan...he will literally RIP YOUR FACE OFF'. How did we go from such a high after the Blues win to "Babcock last...
