Josh Harding's return to the Minnesota Wild is still uncertain, but he returned to practice Tuesday for the first time since going on injured reserve Jan. 6 because of an illness. Harding, who leads the NHL with a 1.65 goals-against average and is second with a .933 save percentage, has been working out on his own and skating while the team was on the road. He was placed on injured reserve in December as he adjusted to a change in medication for multiple sclerosis. He returned and played two games, but has missed the past six games with an illness. "Wasn't feeling good," Harding said after practicing Tuesday. "Obviously if I felt even a little bit like I could play, I would have. But there's some things that are out of my control and I thought that we did everything in our control to get back to where we are right now." Asked if his illness was related to his multiple sclerosis, Harding chose not to get into specifics. "We're not going to get...

Minnesota Wild: Important month ahead for young squad

The last 12 games for the Minnesota Wild saw the team move from one end to the other on the spectrum of the NHL’s Western Conference. They struggled mightily over the course of two weeks in which they lost 6 consecutive games while being outscored by a margin of 27-13. The injury bug hit hard as they were forced to place superstar forward Zach Parise on injured reserve because...

Wearing a yellow, non-contact jersey, Zach Parise took part in an optional practice with about a dozen other guys on the ice this morning at Xcel Energy Center. It was Parise’s second time on the ice and first with some teammates since his last game Dec. 22 at the Rangers. He’ll miss his 12th consecutive game Thursday against the Oilers with a broken foot. Parise said he barely...

Wild lethargic early in 3-0 home loss to Senators

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Mike Yeo had seen his Minnesota Wild win five of their past six games with gritty, short-handed performances and solid goaltending, putting any residual effects from a season-high six-game losing streak behind them. Returning home for a three-game homestand, where Minnesota was 16-6-2 this season, was bound to add another push to the Wild's playoff hopes. The...

Fox Focus: In Parise family, it's like father, like son. Sort of

Like his father, J.P., Zach Parise will play in some of his country's biggest hockey games, with one minor difference. It's not the same country.

Wild lethargic in 3-0 home shutout loss to Ottawa

Instant replay is something that football fans are very familiar with.  Whether mandated by the booth or from a coach's challenge the goal of such a practice is to make sure the right call is made.  The NFL only allows certain types of things to be challenged.  Some fans have hoped the NHL would adopt some kind of coach's challenge.  I doubt the league would want a coach...

Wild responds well to loss by shutting out Nashville

Mike Yeo had one question for his team Sunday morning: “How do we bounce back?” The youngest coach in the NHL was guarding against a letdown from his super-young team after the Wild felt it deserved better than seeing its four-game winning streak wiped out the night before by Colorado. Yeo told his players, “What we did two, three, four games ago, it’s absolutely meaningless...
