Found March 26, 2013 on Kukla's Korner:
from Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News, The overall math is simple. The Flyers are almost guaranteed a playoff spot with an 11-4-2 run in their final 17 games. A mark of 11-5-1 will give them a strong chance. They have a prayer at 9-4-4 or 10-5-2. And they're toast at 9-5-3 or worse. This season, it's not necessarily about the Flyers' overall record, but their record in the games that matter most. Of the Flyers' final 18 games (including Sunday's loss), the only two teams in the East they do not face are the two teams below them in the standings (Tampa Bay and Florida), which have little bearing on how this season plays out, anyway. Barring any epic collapses, the top six or seven seeds in the Eastern Conference are largely already set in stone - even with a month left in the season. The nine games against those teams - Pittsburgh, Montreal, Winnipeg, Boston, Toronto and Ottawa - go in the "Gravy" category. Essentially, any poi...

Matthew Barry: It's Time For Another Kings/Flyers Trade!

The Flyers are falling faster than Joan Rivers face. I'm absolutely shocked Laviolette still has a job. The players are even speaking SIGN language to him. But since the Flyers seems to love our players and prospects, and the Kings have done so well collecting former Flyers, maybe they would like to take a "flier" on a few more? (did you see what I did there...

Flyers Admit They Were Not Ready To Play

from Sam Carchidi of Broad Street Bull, The Flyers played without emotion and dropped a 5-2 decision, slipping into 14th place in the 15-team Eastern Conference, seven points behind the Rangers, who sit in the eighth and final playoff spot. Flyers Talking Trade For Bobby Ryan?

Kentucky women and Dayton set for 2nd-round clash

Dayton won't be intimidated by Kentucky and its ''40 minutes of dread.'' After all, the two teams played a closed scrimmage in the preseason and the Flyers hung tough with the Wildcats. Yet that game was in October and both teams have improved since then. They will play Tuesday night in the second round of the women's NCAA tournament with a trip to the Bridgeport...
