Know Your Foe: Light the Lamp

dude, dude... DUDE!

In their first central division match up of the year the Blackhawks have the pleasure of hosting the Fatty Rick Nash’s (now with an overpriced side of Wiz!).

Hot off their first first win of the season against the Detroit Red Wings the FRN’s lost to the Buffalo Sabres.

Oh, ummmm...

Whatever. The ******** dressed up as a hockey game last night down in Raliegh was all tricks I’d like to see over this holiday weekend. I’ve heard enough of the, “I guess we’re just trying to be a little too cute out there”. None of the passes last night were cute, hardly any of them would even be considered passes. Not that history has show us that they let up on the cute at the UC, but hopefully getting outworked last night in all areas knocked some sense into their heads.

From the looks and sounds of everything all signs are pointing to Ray Emery getting his second start in net. Which is good because I’m sure Corey Crawford is more than willing to slam the door into a few guys’ legs after last night. I’m going to assume a few shake ups in the rest of the lineup as well. Can’t imagine John Scott, but now that I’ve said it I’m sure Cool Hand Q will prove me wrong. Rationally thinking though, could see a chance for Sami Lepisto, but more likely the myth known as Rusty Olesz will play. Then again, a call to Rockford might be in order. Hopefully something to change things up a bit. Carcillo has a nice chat with the supplemental discipline committee at 1, so we’ll see how everything shakes out.

This game would be a good chance for the Blackhawks to snap back into reality. With the FRN’s having one of the worst penalty kills in the league the Blackhawks could show some improvement to the clown shoes four-for-whatever power play they’re currently working on. After his eight game suspension and playing in just his third game of the regular season, The Wiz will make an appearance at the UC. I’m sure with shenanigans in tote. The FRN’s are without their other prized acquisition over the summer, Jeff Carter who is currently on the IR. Whatever the lines shake out to be look for Patrick Sharp to start up that point streak again. In his time against the Blue Jackets he has 13 goals and eight assists.

These early games against struggling opponents are the two points the Blackhawks don’t need to be leaving on the table. Building on the few nice things from last night -- Brent Seabrook and even Steve Montador went out to flatten some dudes/Captain Give-A-**** beasting at the dot, the Blackhawks have a chance to make all of us forget about Raleigh.

See you ladies and gents at 7:30.
Let’s go Hawks!
