For much of the past five seasons, a date with the New York Islanders essentially meant an automatic two points for the Philadelphia Flyers. Wins haven't come so easily for the Flyers recently - against the Islanders or anyone else. Looking to recover from a poor February, the Flyers try to avoid a third home loss to the Islanders in the past six weeks Thursday night. Philadelphia (34-21-7) won 24 of 26 games against New York from 2007-08 to the end of last season - including all 13 at the Wells Fargo Center - and added two more victories on Long Island to begin this season's series. But the Islanders (26-28-9) stopped their lengthy skid on Broad Street with a 4-1 win Jan. 19 and came away with a 1-0 shootout victory Feb. 7, performances indicative of the Flyers' second-half inconsistency.
