New York Islanders goaltender Evgeni Nabokov will be sidelined indefinitely due to a groin injury. Nabokov was injured in the first period of Thursday's game against the Montreal Canadiens. Newsday reported that the 36-year-old Nabokov is expected to be out for three to four weeks. Nabokov had gone 1-5 with a 2.83 goals-against average with the Islanders this season. He didn't play in the NHL last season, opting instead to sign with Russia's Kontinental Hockey League before returning in December due to family circumstances.
