New York Islanders right wing Nino Niederreiter has been diagnosed with a concussion following a brutal hit from Dallas Stars defenseman Mark Fistric in Saturday's game.
The fifth overall pick of the 2010 draft, Niederreiter exited the contest after his first shift. The 19-year-old did not return.
Niederreiter has collected one goal and two penalty minutes in six games this season.
