The Islanders announced the emergency recall of Kevin Poulin and Tim Wallace. The two have been called up from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in response to injures to Andrew MacDonald and Jay pandolfo. Both have been placed on injured reserve retroactively from Nov. 29 and Nov. 26 respectively.
Poulin has appeared in 13 games for the Sound Tigers with a 3.37 goals against average and a .892 save percentage. He also went 4-2-0 last season with the Islanders in 10 games with the club. It’s hard to see Poulin getting too much action while he is here. Montoya has been on fire during his last starts and Poulin is still young, where you don’t want to rush him or throw him right into things.
Wallace comes to the NHL as one of the Sound Tigers top offensive threats. He leads the team with 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) in 24 games.
